| Mark and I met a long time ago, I think it was the winter of 1983 in Phoenix, Arizona. He needed a drummer for two shows that he had booked at the Grand Canyon, I had been taking drum lessons at "The Creative Drum Shop" in Scottsdale, Arizona and that's one of the places Mark called looking for a new drummer, they passed my number on to him and he called my house. I wasn't home, but my Mom was and they had a very nice conversation, I think because of that, I got an audition, (Thanks Mom)! Mark elevated my playing to a new level, which is what I needed at the time ( I knew I had a lot to learn, and Mark gave me a chance) Back then Mark had just finished recording a bunch of really cool originals that he was performing along with a lot of classic Rock n Roll. He was known to play medley's by Led Zeppelin, The Police, Genesis, & The Beatles, some were up to 40 minutes long. I had a lot of material to learn in a short time. The Grand Canyon shows went great and then soon after, Mark re-located to Los Angeles. I drove from Phoenix, with Bass player (Thom Casey) to record at Redwing Studio's in Tarzana, Ca. what became Mark's "Long Days, And Lonely Nights" album/cassette Today, after several original projects and too many gigs to even remember, Mark and I still remain good friends and occasionally perform together, when schedules permit.
